Frequently asked questions

DrivewayIQ is a driveway design and compliance support platform for residential construction. It helps generate driveway gradient profiles between the front boundary and garage level, assess transition and rate-of-change risks, test vehicle clearance, and produce professional documentation.

Residential builders, building designers, drafting companies, architects, civil designers, engineers, private and building certifiers, town planners, construction managers, site supervisors, estimators, developers, surveyors, and council assessment teams.

No. DrivewayIQ is a design support and documentation tool. It does not replace a qualified engineer, certifier, surveyor, designer, or project-specific professional advice. Outputs should always be reviewed by appropriately qualified professionals.

No. DrivewayIQ does not guarantee building approval, council approval, or certification. It is intended to support the design and review process, not to replace formal assessment against current legislation, planning requirements, and council standards.

DrivewayIQ can help present driveway levels, gradients, and transition information more clearly to support a certifier's review, but any certification decision remains the responsibility of the certifier based on project-specific information.

Yes. DXF and DWG export at 1:1, 1:20, 1:50, 1:100, 1:200 or 1:500, alongside SVG, PDF, PNG and JPG, so profiles can be brought into common CAD and drafting packages at the scale your sheet expects.

Yes, DXF export is available so driveway profiles can be imported directly into CAD software.

Vehicle clearance and scrape-risk testing is part of the DrivewayIQ Vehicle Check module. Availability may vary by plan and is being progressively rolled out.

Yes. DrivewayIQ is browser-based, so it runs on any modern browser on Mac, Windows, or Linux.

Yes. There is nothing to install for standard use — DrivewayIQ runs entirely in your browser.

Both plans currently run the same software, with every feature available on each. Pro always includes every feature, including any added later; which features Standard will include is still being worked out, and nothing is held back until that is settled and published.

Yes, subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from Account Settings, effective at the end of the current billing period.

Yes, every plan is available on a free trial before you need to subscribe.

Saved projects are stored against your account and are not visible to other customers. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for more detail on data handling.

Yes. You can save export presets — typefaces, lineweights, dimension styles and what is shown — on either plan, and each saved job freezes the preset it was drawn with, so reopening an old project reproduces the same sheet.

DrivewayIQ can present council-specific guidance references, including Queensland Development Code guidance, but requirements vary by council and jurisdiction and should be independently confirmed for each project.

No tool can account for every site condition. Unusual or complex sites should always be reviewed by an appropriately qualified professional in addition to using DrivewayIQ.

Typically a boundary RL, garage or target RL, and driveway length are required as a minimum, with additional site levels improving accuracy where available.
